Prellis Biologics employs proprietary technology to 3D print lymph node organoids, which we are using to generate in vitro antibody libraries, camelid antibody libraries, in vitro human immunogenicity screening, and in vitro human tumor/lymph node cocultures for therapeutic screening. Prellis’ ability to print and culture healthy human tissue provides it with unique opportunities for generating and evaluating next-generation human therapeutics.
Prellis Biologics is a seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive the research and development of proprietary next generation bioprinting technology and associated production infrastructure. The manufacturing engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving the production line of our lymph node organoids (LNOs™).
Expected to work in a manufacturing environment and have a basic understanding of traceability, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and SOP/work instructions creation and maintenance.
Supports the tracking, analyzing, and reporting of yield and quality of product, uptime of equipment, and other production defining metrics.
Recommends changes to improve production processes, equipment, product quality/yield, and develops DOE-type studies to understand the viability of the changes.
Participates in daily production stand up meetings to report on print quality and upcoming prints.
Responsible for maintaining production line by setting up builds each working day and performing quality control testing on daily prints.
Works cross-functionally with end-users (cell biologists, immunologists, engineering groups) to plan production demand and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
Conduct time studies and track cycle times of printers to understand bottleneck areas on the lines and provide solutions to improve throughput.
Define and modify quality metrics for different production processes and ensure product meets defined specifications through quality control testing.
Support the creation and revisions of quality control test methods to improve reliability of product.
Troubleshoots production issues through a risk-based approach and escalates to cross-functional team when needed.
Able to support and/or create new or modified CAD designs for production-related fixtures.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum of BS + 2 years’ experience or MS in an engineering, chemistry, and/or biology discipline, preferably manufacturing related positions in the biotech industry.
Experience with cell biology techniques (i.e. maintaining and enabling cell growth and viability, making of extracellular matrix to embed cells, etc.).
Experience with operating and aligning liquid handlers.
Proficient using Microsoft Office and Google Doc Editors.
Understanding of quality systems as they related to production operations would be a plus.
Lean manufacturing would be a plus.
