Prellis Biologics employs 2-photon holography to print human tissues and organs in real time. Current applications of our platform include printing of lymph node organoids, which we are using to generate in vitro human antibody libraries, camelid antibody libraries, in vitro human immunogenicity screening, human primary tumor/lymph node co-cultures for therapeutic screening, and vaccine R&D. Prellis’ ability to print and culture healthy human tissue provides it with unique opportunities for generating and screening next generation human therapeutics.
Prellis Biologics is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to drive the development and productization of our next generation platforms. This highly visible, multidisciplinary role requires the skills of an engineer with exposure to systems integration, workflow automation, and process engineering. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in the laboratory and takes pride in solving problems.
Key Responsibilities
Integration of components and end-to-end workflow development/automation involving mammalian cells handling, extracellular matrices, micro/macro-fluidics, soft material 3D structures, and automation instruments
Develop methods to monitor and improve robustness and reliability of processes and systems
Collaborate with Biology and Engineering teams to develop workflow, integrate components, and troubleshoot problems
Analyze and report data
Keep rigorous documentation
Ownership of failure analysis and structured problem solving
Contribute to the generation of intellectual property
Skills and Experience
Masters with 6 years of experience or PhD with 3 years of experience in an engineering or biomedical field with exposure to cell biology applications
An excellent academic record is a strong plus
Hands-on experience developing systems for life sciences
Ability to understand and troubleshoot complex components within a system
Familiarity with a programming language
Experience with mammalian cell culture, sterility techniques, and cell-based assays, familiarity with molecular and cell biology
Experience with Tissue Engineering techniques
Experience with microscopy techniques and microfluidics development a plus
CAD software experience a plus
Data-driven and attention to details, proficient with design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis
Excellent data presentation and communication of ideas, problems, and solutions to experts and non-experts within an interdisciplinary environment
