Prellis Biologics employs proprietary technology to 3D print lymph node organoids, which we are using to generate in vitro antibody libraries, camelid antibody libraries, in vitro human immunogenicity screening, and in vitro human tumor/lymph node cocultures for therapeutic screening. Prellis’ ability to print and culture healthy human tissue provides it with unique opportunities for generating and evaluating next-generation human therapeutics.

Prellis Biologics is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our research team and help develop our next-generation antibody discovery technology. The role will be integrated with our cell biology teams and will require background knowledge in antibody discovery/characterization platforms, particularly with respect to monoclonal antibody expression and development. 

The ideal candidate will have previous hands-on experience with antibody expression, cloning and construct design, biochemical characterization of recombinant proteins, cell line culture, and a proven track record of applying bioinformatic analysis for drug discovery. Meticulous attention to detail, proficient reasoning, and problem-solving skills are cornerstones for a successful candidate.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Design, plan, conduct and coordinate experiments in support of in vitro immune system and antibody discovery projects

  • Culture and maintain mammalian cell lines

  • Keep detailed records of data and data analysis

  • Establish, install, maintain, operate and/or repair research equipment related to antibody discovery projects

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD, MS with 2+ years or BS with 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience (preferably in industry) in biochemistry, molecular biology, protein engineering or related field

  • Molecular cloning, plasmid preparation and propagation

  • Small scale protein expression in mammalian cells

  • Experience with bacterial and mammalian cell culture techniques

  • Protein purification by chromatography-based methods 

  • Characterization of proteins by standard biochemical techniques (SDS-PAGE, western blots, thermal melts, activity assays, octet binding assays)

  • Practical experience with ELISA, Octet, and FACS for antibody characterization is a plus

  • Strong in experimental design and data analysis

  • Ability to participate in multiple collaborative projects in a cross-functional team environment

  • Ability to multi-task to meet technology development and research goals

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, strong in time management, and teamwork are essential

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills able to positively influence project direction and strategy

  • Self-starter and ability to multitask
