Prellis Biologics employs 2-photon holography to print human tissues and organs in real time. Current applications of our platform include printing of lymph node organoids, which we are using to generate in vitro human antibody libraries, camelid antibody libraries, in vitro human immunogenicity screening, human primary tumor/lymph node co-cultures for therapeutic screening, and vaccine R&D. Prellis’ ability to print and culture healthy human tissue provides it with unique opportunities for generating and screening next generation human therapeutics.
Prellis Biologics is seeking an experienced candidate to architect our entire software infrastructure to automate a multitude of varied, complex biological workflows in parallel. This architecture will incorporate proprietary Prellis 3D printing hardware/software along with off-the-shelf hardware/software and will perform a plurality of functions in an automated fashion: 3D printing, biological assays, cell culture, liquid handling, genomics assessment and data analysis, in-process Quality Control, and internal-use HMI. Databasing, data tracking, and traceability for all products flowing through these varied workflows will be required.
Own software architecture for world-class laboratory automation of both proprietary Prellis 3D printers and off-the-shelf laboratory instruments
Design, build, and test software architectures for proprietary Prellis 3D printers
Manage existing team of software engineers
Manage version control system
Skills and Experience:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline
Extensive (15+ years) experience with both custom and off-the-shelf lab automation hardware and software development with items such as but not limited to: Motion control, syringe pumps, liquid handlers, off-the-shelf assay instruments (FACS, fluorescent microscopy, cell counters, etc.), 3D printing, custom microscopy development (illumination sources, spatial and temporal imaging-to-sample coordination, inline quality control techniques such as fluorescent imaging and machine vision/automation)
Experience in the following coding environments: standard OS (Windows and/or Linux), bare metal (e.g., microcontroller/Eclipse/Keil/etc. and/or FPGA/CPLD), and (nice-to-have) real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS, QNX, VxWorks etc.)
Data-driven, proficient with design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis
Ability to communicate results, ideas, problems, and solutions to experts and non-experts within an interdisciplinary environment
