Dr. Gladys H. Monroy is a patent attorney specializing in the Life Sciences and has practiced patent law since 1986. She recently retired from her position as Senior Partner at Morrison & Foerster LLP, where she was a founder of the Patent Law Group that she chaired for nine years. She received her B.A. in chemistry from Hunter College, M.S. in Biology and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from N.Y.U., and J.D. from U.S.F.. She was a post-doctoral fellow at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an Asst. Prof. at N.Y. Medical College. Dr. Monroy has served as President of the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Law Association and on the Board of the Intellectual Property Committee of the State Bar. She has received recognition and many awards, including being listed in the Patent Law Hall of Fame, Best Lawyers in America, Who’s Who in Law, top rating in Chambers USA, and she has received the Chambers USA Women in Law Award of Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year. Currently she serves as Co-Chair of the Bay Area Region or the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute, is a member of the International Board and the Executive Committee of the Weizmann Institute. She serves on the Board of Cancer Commons and is also a Trustee of the American Association for Cancer Research.
