Shao Ning Pei received his PhD in EECS from University of California, Berkeley. There, he developed optofluidic systems to manipulate droplets and single cells, and used these systems to culture vascular stem cells for tissue engineering applications. Subsequently, Shao Ning joined Berkeley Lights Inc. and helped productize his PhD work for pharmaceutical applications. He has worked in various consumables and systems engineering roles – designing, building, and testing various mammalian and microbiotic single cells platforms.
