Shivakshi Gupta

Research Associate II

Shivakshi finished her Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University in the Fall of 2021. She has five years of academic lab experience and has now joined our Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicines team to get her first industrial experience. She completed her Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology, India. She defines making autologous vascularized organs for patients who need transplantation as her ultimate goal. Being an animal welfare activist along with being a scientist, she is also invested in developing in-vitro 3D-disease models using human cells to replace animals in the drug development process. She is the Co-Founder of not-for-profit NGO- Raksha Make A Difference, India that works for educating underprivileged children and animal welfare. Along with this, she is educationally trained and experienced in project management, managerial decision making, strategic management, basic psychology, public relations, publicity and marketing. She is a fur mom and she loves cooking and walking on the beach.
